The Big Picture
"Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." (John 20:30-31)
Thousands of books and articles have been written about Christian theology. Often these writings are done not just to explain what is Christian doctrine but often to refute the doctrine of someone with whom one disagrees. Some would say all this theological writing is about minutia, that it's the small stuff. Many would say it is really pretty irrelevant in a world that knows little about Jesus. Seemingly, a lot of people get lost in the small stuff and fail to appreciate the big picture. If you are looking at a painting, it's like getting caught up in the brush strokes in one small corner of the canvas and missing the big picture.

If you serve youth in the congregational or school setting as a pastor, DCE, teacher, lay volunteer, Mom, Dad, or friend – you want to attend the National Lutheran Youth Workers Conference, sponsored by the DCS Youth Ministry Office of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. This conference is open to individuals and teams serving youth in congregations and throughout districts of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. We encourage both professional and volunteer youth workers to attend.
Congregations are encouraged to consider sending youth who are leaders in the Church to participate in the event alongside of their youth leaders. Youth attendees will participate in the same program as adult participants.
The NLYWC strives to provide a comprehensive program that meets the needs and challenges the minds of professionals and volunteers working with junior and senior high youth in the Lutheran congregational setting.
